When I shutdown my computer an error Win95 RPC Wmsg Window not responding comes up and you have to choose End Task and then the computer shuts down. How can I get rid of this problem??

Hi nielsob

Have the same problem recently. What happen in my machine is that some spy-wares are running in the background. After removing or disabling these programs, my machine works fine. Use msconfig.exe to disable these programs from running everytime you start up your machine.

At the "Start" button, select "Run", at the prompt type msconfig and press "Enter".

Select the "Startup" tab and look for the offending programs.

If you are not sure then I suggest that you use a spyware removing program to do so. You can try Ad-Aware (
Good luck.

I discovered WebHancer in my computer, and removed it using SETTINGS
/ADD-REMOVE PROGRAMS, ran Ad-Aware and Dcom98 version 1.3, and the
slow shutdown problem was fixed. I also ran DUN-98 1.4 for good
measure
