win32 Console Application Hangs

Hi Guys,

got a problem with win32 Console applications that i've developed.

Those application has a problem whereby it might hang if i were to move the scroll bar or click on the command prompt window.

Is there a way to stop the application from hanging? Any suggestions are welcome.

my guess is you're running windows 2000. The quick edit mode is default on in w2000 consoles and default off in all the other os'ses including xp.
Problem with quick edit mode is, if it is turned on, every mouseclick in the console is the start of a mark-operation. Output of all programs to the console is suspended until the mark-operation is done. You can continue the program by pressing enter.
Best thing to do is turning quick edit mode off.
To turn quick edit mode off:
- click on the icon of the console
- in the menu, select properties
- in the options page, turn off quick edit mode (i don't know exactly how it is called in the us version of the os, i use the dutch version)
- press ok
- select "modify the shortcut ..." and press ok again.
