Hello

1) Using Mircrosoft Backup in Windows2003 - I backed up the Store.

2) Reinstalled Windows2003 - and Exchange - using a different domain name. For example: use to be mydomain.local, and now it is mydomain.net

Question: Can I restore the Exchange STORE - from this this Microsoft backup??? So that we can recover our email.

If Not - then What can I do.

Thanks! I will really appreciate.

What can I do.

How about go back in a time machine and choose one of the following:

1. Don't do this (prefered)
2. Use the domain rename tool
3. Backup mailboxes with ExMerge
4. Ask for advice BEFORE doing something like this

OK, so assuming you are short on Delorians outfitted with Flux Capacitors,

1. Start Exchange System Manager.
2. Click to expand Servers, click to expand the server on which the database is located, and then click Storage Group.
3. Right-click on the database, and then click Properties.
4. Click the Database tab.
5. Click to select the This database can be overwritten by a restore check box.

Start the information store.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
