This is very confusing unless I'm missing something...
Win2k3 runs on an Intel or AMD-based server.
CME is IOS-based and runs on a router. Doesn't have anything to do with your Win2k3 server.
UE is a voicemail app that also runs on a router, as part of a module (actually runs on Linux but you never see that). I think the latest version is 2.1 -- there is no Unity Express 4.x as far as I know.
Correct me if I'm wrong but in the System Administrator Guide, it does state that the CME 3.1 is installed within the IOS and on a TFTP server (ie. w2k)
Not surprising if I have the CUE version incorrect, but this too is installed on the TFTP server machine.
The router is a 1751 v4 and I have the correct IOS. I was wondering about the compatibilty of the two with w2k3 server.
You can use anything you want for a TFTP server, including (but not limited to) Win98, Mac, Linux, Unix, Win2000, Win2k3, NT, XP 64-bit, and any of a jillion other options -- you get the idea. All you need is a standard TFTP server program to stash files on, and it needs to be reachable from the phones on your network.
CME doesn't get installed on the server; just the phone loads need to be available from the TFTP server. This can even be the router that hosts CME, from what I recall.
You may be using full-blown Cisco Unity (not Unity Express)which could be version 4. That runs on Windows 2000 Server.
