Win2k unable to browse DSL SBC tek says corrupt winsock 1

I was online using netzero for a couple weeks. Then, suddenly I was unable to browse, I was connecting but error was I was unable to connect with remote server. I switched to SBCdsl and had the same problem. after three long sessions with teks who took me through all possible errors I was told it was a "corrupt winsocket" I was told to take my computer in or reinstall win2k. Please Help!
