1.
Does anyone know why it may take about 2 minutes to log in to a local XP PC when signing into a Win2k server is selected versus logging into the local PC, which only takes maybe 15 seconds.

The same username and password is setup on both the server and the local PC. When signing onto local PC, all server rights are acknowledged, but login scripts and user profiles will not run that are stored on the server.

Is it better to sign into the server and setup local privileges so that any user can access any application on the workstation, or setup individual user rights on the workstation, and continuing to log into the local PC?

If logging into the local PC, is there a way to run login scripts based on the server's settings?

2.
When running VB Scripts during login that copy files to the local machine, Norton AV catches them as malicious scripts and have to manually allow the script to run. Is there a way to prevent Norton from flagging the script everytime without disabling scanning for scripts entirely?

I tried chosing the option to allow this script, but it continues to catch it. The only way I can get this script to run all the way through is choosing the option to run entire script this time only.

The script I am writing is to update the local files for our accounting software with the recent patches. Ultimately, when I am done with it, it will only run the first time someone logs into a workstation after new patches are available on the server.
