Hi! I'm a programmer with short experience in IT. I've installed two months ago win 2k server on my machine. I've installed the DHCP server, DNS server, Active Directory, but I really didn't understand some of the features of those things. I've also installed WinRoute Pro 4 in order to share my Internet connection with the other computer on the LAN (my notebook on a w2k Pro box).

Here is the problem... I have 192mb RAM and PII 300mhz. Win2k Server tooks almost 6 minutes to startup. It takes the longest time before the login appears (ctrl-alt-del)... Sometimes it takes 2 minutes on "Preparing I don't know what" (mine is in spanish sorry). And after all that stuff I have some errors on the Events Logs.

What should I do??

thanks a lot!
Matias

can you tell me what kind of errors you are getting ? I have not failed, I just found 10000 ways that don't work

I have a question as well, why install a 3rd party application to share your connection? Internet Connection Sharing within windows works great.

I had a PII 400 with 256mb ram and it took awhile. There's not much you can do for it. AD is what is slowing it down. If you don't need AD, don't use it. I guarantee if you took it off and use only what you need, then it will work alot better.
