Are these floppies you created using the Win2K CD? Normally you just boot the CD to install on newer PCs. If it is an older PC, you may need to boot a CD-ROM driver floppy.

If you are trying to install Win2K and the error message is telling you it is looking for a previous version, there may be a problem with your floppies.

It may be that you are not giving it enough time after inserting the CD. Are you waiting 10 seconds after inserting the CD so that the drive spins up and sees it first?

Is the CD-ROM access light coming on when you try to read it? Maybe the CD-ROM drive is not plugged in or defective. Can you read other CDs using a bootable floppy with CD-ROM drivers?

Are you reading the message correctly? Is yours an upgrade version of win2k - that prompts for a qualifying windows CD during the install process - if you just left win2k in the drive, it won't find qualifying CD?
