Hi all I have a problem that is driving me nuts.
I have one user on a 150 PC network who has an apple mac with airport, This seems to have become a server and messed up my DHCP set up by broadcasting rogue IPs which the networked PCs took up denying access to the network. So after setting the IPs manually I now have another nasty.
My server keeps rebooting, I have antivirus running on the server, and scan 2 times a day and constantly check for updates, There is NO VIRUS (that I can detect)
Now I have noticed that the network connection on the server disappears, No NICs are visable, If I reboot they reappear...
any help please before I hit the bottle, or the Server.
Thanks John Stressed School tech [thumbsdown]

Some lead, some follow....I just Hope! :)

Is it a Dell server? Some older models had this issue a lot with various things helping to resolve it (including disabling power saving as the poster above suggested but in a lot of cases a motherboard or NIC repalcement was required).
Also for the DHCP thing why didn't you just stop the device issuing DHCP addresses rather than change your whole network to static?

HI all thanks for your thought will look at the power saving settings on the server, PS its fairly new (only)2 yrs old

Some lead, some follow....I just Hope! :)
