My WIN2K domain is company.com, and my email and web are hosted off-site. For what seemed like good reasons, my internal WIN2K Domain was named location.company.com (so the full name is box1.location.company.com). Obviously I want to bring the web and email in-house at some pointand have a "clean" network structure, but because there is no real DC for company.com I am stuck. I don't have that many users, so I would be ok with dcpromo and renaming the domain if that's what I have to do, but then what about the clients? They are looking for location.company.com, and if I connect them now to company.com their profile on the desktop changes. I have gone through with test machines and tried to add a DC for company.com, but of course it won't let me add a "parent" when it thinks that location.company.com is the parent. Any thoughts? TIA
