Greetings,

I am trying to get the backup program included with Win2K Server to run. I have attempted to create a media pool in the removable storage MMC plug in, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the backup program to use my media. When in the backup program, if I try to select the media options from the menu, it is greyed out. The removable media idea might be great for huge backup farms, but for a single tape drive on a single server, it's bit overwhelming. I've gone through my Administrators Companion book, but it's difficult to decipher which features apply and which don't. What are the steps necessary to make 6 tapes available for daily backups?

Regards,
Brian

Brian,

I am suffering from similar problems myself... If I come across a solution, I'll make sure I post it here!

Good luck
