Hi

I have a strange problem I need some advice on.
My wife's work laptop is running win2000. her MIS set it up to work with domain controller.
Her user name is not local but in the domain controller.

At home we have a cable router "Xsense", as soon as she connects the laptop to the router the router freezes.

I ran a sniffer on the network and I saw that when she logs in the laptop it tries to search for the domain controller that start with _ldap.........

Disabling the domain controller is out of the question, it will force my wife to call MIS every time to switch back.

I tried to replace the router with a different brand, but no luck.

Any ideas?, any help will be appreciated

Logon to workstation only, and allow PC to cache domain credentials. Then connect to home network...

Does wife have access to office network...VPN or SecurID ?

Once on home network, use VPN w/SecurID to make office connect if necessary

Thanks for the reply.

We tried the above, when she comes home she works as workstation only.

Even if we wait for the computer to come up and then connect the network, as soon as she opens IE the router freeze.

She doesn't have an access to the office.
