I have a few year old computer with...

Abit BE6-II ver1 Motherboard
Intell Celeron 433Mhz CPU
WD 20G HD
ATI Rage Fury AGP Video card
Sound Blaster Sound Card
52X CD ROM
Floppy
Power suply (that might be gone)
Lynxis LNE 100 TX

and I had win98SE loaded on it but it got a virus and I wanted to load win2k on it anywase so gave it a try. Eveything was going fine I had

Flashed the bios and updated the ATA-66 controler
all of the Windows updates
all of the drivers installed
Zoan Alarm 3.1
SpyBot S&D
WinZip8
a lot of users and there settings
PopUp cop
Office 2000 Pro
Adobe Acrobat Reader 6
Real One Player Gold
Quick Time 6
MSconfig for win2k

and then all of a sudden when I started it up after a few hours of twiddling around for a while making sure everything worked it happened a new form of the BSOD was discovered. When I(I had the standard blue walpaper) try to shut down something like SysFader or Power Manager comes up and says something like the program is shutting down but you can end it now. then another one just like it comes up but with a diferent program. Then it happens it freezes with a completely blue screen. The thing that is anoying is that you are still in Windows so the Dos commands don't work but because you are so far out of Windows you can't use the Windows comands either.

So if you see my predicament pleese tell me if it is one of these programs or some of this hardware that is giveing me the greaf.

In the mean time I will be reformating the HD and starting form scratch. which I have done 3 times already and every time it craps out on me at a diferent time.

oh ya I'm not useing the dreadded ATA 66 controller it has given me too much grief.
