I haven't needed to look at my Windows 2000 server's DHCP conosle in months, and today when I went looking for it, it's gone. It also doesn't appear in the Computer Management utility. Yet it's obviously still 'running' as addresses are being doled out. I've searched for dhcp*.* and get all the dll's hlp's but no msc, exe etc.

FYI, I'm looking at DHCP because some PC's are giving me 'duplicate address' warnings... Weird.

Any ideas?

Do you still have the Win2K CD? You can extract the dhcpmgmt.msc file from there.

I do have the CD... I looked in the i386 folder, but there was no file named dhcpmgmt.ms_ there... Then I searched the whole CD for dhcp*.* and there were files, but nothing either ex_ or ms_. That's really strange isn't it? It's a real OEM Win2k Server CD.

I could email it to you if you want. Separate your email domain from your email name if you post it, you know, prevent the whole automated spam thing... so if your address is:

User@domain.com

post it as:

My email name is "user" and my domain is @domain.com.

What happens when you go to Start->Programs->Administrative Tools->DHCP? do you get an error message. Also check the event log for any errors with DHCP.

The icon doesn't appear under Administrative Tools. Very strange.

My email name is "jeff" and my domain is @somersmanor.com.

I really appreciate your emailing it.

Thanks!!

-Jeff
