Hi there,

I'm setting up a win2k server dedicated for hosting one web site that has sql server installed, the box has 2 scsi , 36G each, the databse is about 4G

my questions are :
1- what is the best configuration for windows server, do i have to have a domain controler ? DNSs ? i'm not too expert with MS sql, nor IIS, - i probebly need IIS,
2- should i put sql sever on the same drive as the OS, and mirror them to each other, ? remember i only have 2 drives,
3- in your openion what is the best softare firewall to be used in a scenario like that ?

Thanks alot in advance, and if you have anything to add, advise, hints, things to look for , worry about, please let me know,

You can use IIS and SQL on a member server and just make it a member of a domain if you like, it does not have to be, just depends on if you have domain accounts accessing the system. I would put both IIS and SQL on seperate partitions if not seperate drives.

Software firewalls in my experience, one of the best is Norton.
