Hello everyone,
I am trying to start the DHCP Service on a Win2000 server machine. I keep getting the following symptoms:
Event Source: DhcpServer
Event ID: 1014
Description: The JET Database call returned the following error: -1032

Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thanks

HI.

First of all, search for that error in Google, MSKB, and other.

If you don't find a better solution, try to rename the DHCP.MDB file (or whatever the name of the DB file is).
Then try to use the backup copy of the database. It is located in a subfolder of SYSTEM32\DHCP .
Then if using the backup fails, you will need to create a new DB, and ask all clients to reboot their machines.
Since a DHCP client will first request the same IP address it had before, the database will be rebuilt with not too much mess.
You can also configure the DHCP server to ping addresses before offering them. This is done in the DHCP management console - properties of your server.
You can use this feature for few days to be on the safe side, and then disable it to improve performance.

Bye
