Win2000 Rights Issue

Been running some perl scripts (a search engine) on an older IIS 3.0/NT4 box for some time. Got a new IIS5/W2000 box and installed Perl. The same search script doesn't work successfully. If I remove IIS user rights to the scripts directory, I get prompted for an NT user name and password. If I log in as administrator, everything runs fine. If I add the IIS user to the scripts directory and the PERL installation directory, I don't get prompted for a user name, the script runs (kinda) but no results are returned.

I don't really know Perl, these were scripts developed by someone else.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed, please let me know.

Thanks.
