every time i startup win xp pro, i'm getting this error :

BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : BFA3363A BCP3 : AFE369F4

BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 0_0 Product : 256_1

it's a completely fresh install on a new system.
any suggestions as to the cause ?

Here's a posted fix, copied from elsewhere:

[[To remove the error message: Either/Or

Right Click the My Computer
Icon/Properties/Advanced/Performance/Settings/Advanced/Change. Set Page File to 0, ok your way out and reboot. Then follow the same procedure and reset the Page File to System Managed File.

Right Click the My Computer
Icon/Properties/Advanced/Performance/Advanced/Virtual Memory/Change/No Page File. Reboot. Then delete C:\Pagefil.Sys then revert the page file setting.]]

hey gargouille, it works now!!

i've followed your tips and now there's no more error on startup. :)

btw,
1) before i started i noticed the pagefile "initial size" setting of 768mb while the "maximum setting" was 1324mb.

2) my win xp was "recommending" a pagegfile of "766mb", so after your instructions and rebooting, i made a custom setting of 800mb (both initial & maximum of 800mb) and rebooted.

till now still no errors!
again, thanks, it was driving me nuts!!
