Just got a new laptop with XP pro on it. Installed VFP 7.0 SP1 on it with no problems reported. Launches fine but if I make a change in the option menu (no mater what) VFP hangs on launch. It seems that making a choice on the option menu writes not only your choice but also a bunch of default values in the registry. One of those default values seems to be responsible for the hang. I tested deleting the option part of the registry key and VFP works fine(this is obviously not a viable option). Any idea on wich option key would be the culprit?

This might be worth a call to Microsoft's VFP support.

Hi Mike,

I solved the problem (after a lot of testing) by turning off the advanced text services in the property of the program shortcut under the compatibility tab. Life has its mysteries...

Merci
