I am running a dual boot system, Win XP Pro and Win 2K Pro. I installed Win 2K Pro first, added the drivers and all, then proceeded to install Win XP Pro next on the other partition of the same hard drive. After the install was complete, I cannot access the Win 2K OS! In the Startup and Recovery section, under the "Properties" of "My Computer", I don't even have another option other than XP Pro as the default OS. BUT,.. I can see the two partitions under the Disk Management section of the Administrators Tools. Please help me understand how I can get this system to recognize the 2K Pro OS again. Thanks.

Try right clicking on My Computer, then Advanced tab, then Settings in Startup and Recovery.
Now see if there is more boot options in the
Default operation system: windows.
Also you can Edit manualy the boot.ini here. Google boot.ini and you will get lots of info on how to, I like to back up the boot.ini before editing it. you can end up with a system that will not boot if you screw it up. I Attrib -r -h boot.ini and back it up if you are going to use edit for cmd to edit it.
I have a note computer at work that I have 2000 Pro and XP Pro dual boot If you need to see what a boot.ini looks like on a dual boot post back and I will try to copy and post tomorrow.

HOW TO: Install and Use the Recovery Console for Windows XP (Q307654)

A Discussion About the Bootcfg Command and Its Uses

"The bootcfg command is a Microsoft Windows XP Recovery Console command that manipulates the Boot.ini file. This command has a function that can scan your hard disks for Microsoft Windows NT, Microsoft Windows 2000, and Windows XP installations, and then add them to an existing Boot.ini file or rebuild a new Boot.ini file, if one does not exist. The bootcfg command enables additional Boot.ini file parameters to be added to existing or new entries."

Thanks fellas! I was able to finally change the boot file to reflect Win 2K manually,... for some reason, the recovery console would boot after I installed it locally. It would get hung up on the startup screen (black screen with white dashes along the bottom). Having a few minor boot up issues with Win 2K Pro now, but I think I should be good from here. Thanks for all your help.
