Win XP offline folder issue

I have a notebook with win XP sync'd to a set of folders on my desktop PC running win2K. It generally works well, except for one annoying problem: when I create a new subfolder on the desktop drive it does not automatically copied to the notebook during the offline file sync. I have to root thru the folder tree and find the new folders, right click and select Make Available Offline. Is there a way to fix this problem?
