I have a Win XP Pro computer and I want to share the "My Documents" folder. When I'm in Windows Explorer, and I right-click on the "My Documents" folder, but "Sharing" is not listed on the short-cut menu. Are you able to turn sharing off? If so, can I turn it back on? Is there more than one way?

Thanks for your help,

Dennielle

right click on the folder, select Properties, and select the Sharing tab

Go to your network settings and check 'File and Print Sharing'.

Okay - I just noticed I posted this question a month ago. I followed all the steps, but there were things missing.

1. When I right-clicked on the folder and selected Properties, there was no sharing tab.

2. In Control Panel, I clicked on Network Connections, right-clicked on my connection and selected properties. There was NO "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks".

I had to "add" File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks. Then I was able to go back and share the folder.

Thanks for your help!
