Hello,

I recently bought a laptop with Win XP Home preinstalled but without IIS. How can I install it? Is it tricky or have I overlooked something simple?

Thanks a lot!

XP Home does not come with IIS - that is why you would buy the Pro edition. It also does not officially support it, but there are ways around it...

You'll need a copy of windows 2000 to hand - trial version will do, if you don't have the full version - or 'borrow' a copy from a friend.

As these articles with tell you - this is NOT SUPPORTED by MS, and is not recommended either - you should really buy WinXP Pro, which comes with IIS.
