I'd like to know if anyone has a registry hack to remove the Settings folder from the start up menu. I have hacked out Favorites, Run and Documents, but I cannot seem to be able to shed Settings. Thanks in advance

System Policy Editor is what you need. Hacking the registry is ok but SPE can save time and effort. I take it you have users you want to hide these things from?
System policies let you mandate user-specific and computer-specific settings. System policies let you selectively determine a subset of user settings to control, and each user controls the remaining settings.
To install System Policy Editor do the following:

1) In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab, and then click Have Disk.
2) In the Install From Disk dialog box, click Browse and specify the Netadmin\Poledit directory on the Microsoft Windows 98 Resource Kit compact disc.
3) Click OK, and then click OK again in response to the dialog boxes.
4) In the Have Disk dialog box, select the System Policy Editor check box, and then click Install.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I set up an extra PC at home with WIn 98 and will tinker with the policy editor.
