WIN 98 Network

Hi All,
Can any of u suggest why this is happening to my PC, My computer is running under Windows 98 SE, the system is hanging up on me when propmpted the Network Password, There is no activity after that. I have already restarted the computer several times but it wont work......

Is this a new PC on the network, or has this just started happening to an old one.

I would boot into safe mode "Press F8 when booting" and check all of your network settings.

An easy thing to overlook sometimes is the cable. Make sure someone didn't disconnect your LAN cable from the pc, or that you accidently disconnected it yourself.

What happens when you hit "Cancel" at the network prompt? If windows is able to load that way, then I would suspect either a network issue or the network settings on your pc have been altered.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions but I have figured out the problem, The solution was to reconfigure my network settings. Run winipcfg, Release and then Renew All. This works. I am good to go...
