Hi all

I need to install drivers for a graphics card and sound card for Windows 95. The problem is the cards are old and dont have the name of them.
Which would be the best way to get drivers for them ?

And will Windows 2000 automatically install drivers for them

If the cards are old, then it is entirely possible that W2K will have the drivers for them.

Why are you needing to install drivers for Windows 95?

If they are old, you are probably out of luck. W2K is pretty shaky when it comes to driver support in general. Drivers for old devices are practically nonexistant.

I agree with crisc. Most older cards that worked fine in Win9x will only work if the manufacturer released Win2K specific drivers. Sometimes, even the NT 4.0 drivers will not work. The unfortunate part is that many manufacturer's neglect to release updated drivers for their older products (like the 3dfx Voodoo chipset).

Best thing for you to do is find out what type of card it is and who manufactured it. Even if the company doesn't list Win2K drivers, you might be able to locate some on the net. Occasionally, some are created by 3rd-parties or people with enough time on their hands!
