Win 2K client on SBS 4.5 question

I have just received my new laptop that is running Windows 2000, and I have a question. Most of the time it will be logged onto a SBS 4.5 server. When I take it on the road I want to be able use the system without having to log on. In the past when I have done this, any changes made to the desktop, color schemes, etc. while logged on are not available when you skip the logon. Is this in a profile? How can I keep the system looking the same when logged on, or using it on the road?
