win 2k and win xp

I'm running a win98 and w2k box and I have a following question:
I'd like to try a little coding under xp, but I'm afraid of destroying my current configuration.is there some easy way to install xp on some aditional partition and also uninstall it sometimes? is it running on well with w2k?

Please send any experience you have.

Using Partition Magic boot disc you can create a new partition from your free space left over from your other 2 partitions and select create partition and it will ask you exactly what OS you are putting on. It is also very easy to remove the partition using the boot disc if needed.
