Just setting up small office system using 2003 Server. This may be heresy on this forum but must I use a hardware router or can I use Routing and Remote Access provided with 2003 Server? After looking at the various questions on this forum and the dazzling array of configurations for routers, I don't know if I'm up to configuring one of them. Have never used a Cisco router before (at least that I've had to configure) and am thinking of a 1711 or 1712. If I use Cisco router does that mean that I undo/stop the RRAS service and just do the routing through Cisco or do I leave RRAS on and additionally configure the router? We have only one server that does duty as a DNS and DHCP server. We may have web site at some point, but I don't know if it will be hosted externally or internally. So mostly we want to be able to access the internet and be able to have remote authorized users log onto the internal network and do work or ftp files to their home computer and back to the network.
