Win 2000 won't allow me to install Norton System Works 2002 and Sonic DVDit 2.5 even though I'm logged in as administrator. I've also tried the 'run as' routine with no luck. The Sonic product gives a message that I don't have authorization to install in the Win 32 system folder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've installed Norton System Works Professional 2001 on Windows 2000 Pro, both SP1 & SP2, a few times without any problems. I'd check with Symantec's web site and see if there are any problems reported, they have a very helpfull support page. Try, and drill down till you get to the System Works info.

I would check the permissions of that machine-it sounds like something is up with the administrator permissions or something. It doesn't sound like its a software problem but it could be. Do you have the latest service pack which is 2 loaded on you win2k machine? I trust you do but it never hurts to ask. Try to install the software under and account you created for yourself and add yourself to the administrators group if you haven't already and try to reinstall the software. I hope this helps you out any. Happy New Year!

I appreciate the replies. Yes I have done all the suggestions. The problem it seems was Roxio EZ CD Creator 5. I got tipped off from another board. Rolled back to a Norton Ghost image prior to installing EZ and now everything works and installs just fine.
Thanks, Zax
