win 2000 windows installer

When I try to install a program from a cd, the windows installer dialog box comes up and says "INCORRECT COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS". How can I fix this.

Are you installing as an administrator, a user etc? Have you installed the OS before. And if you did, did you load it as administrator, user or what?

If the Cd has a Setup file, try stopping the Windows INStaller service through the Admin Tools-->Services.
After installing from the CD (if it worked), Start the Service again. A+, MCP, CCNA
