Win 2000 Srv Event Viewer error will not quit 1

New to this forum so bear with me...


Registration of the DNS record ‘_ldap_tcp.Default-First-Site-Name._sites.MTH.LOCAL. 600 IN SRV 0 100 389 SRV01.MTH.LOCAL.’failed with the following error:
DNS name does not exist.

Also Getting this error in event viewer .. "wmi adap was unable to create object indel 3256 for preformance library filereplicaset because no value was found in the 009 subkey."

Is this from a 2nd DC? Have you renamed any of your sites (or moved around servers)? Changed your domain name? Changed anything to do within the AD integrated zone?

Looks like dynamic registration of the record fails, this could be the result of a something along the lines of what I mentioned. Have you tried clearing your dns cache on this machine to update where it may need to try and register these entries? Verified that it is pointing to the correct dns server for where it wants to register this SRV record?

How does your netdiag/dcdiag look?
