I have a problem with my dhcp server. certian users get a class A or B subnet when I set it up for a class C subnet.
Certain users are then unable to log in or get to their files.i tried installing different network cards and reinstalled OS on those client computers but still problems. But if I release then renew the adaptor , I get the class C subnet. Is it a possibility my new Cisco swithes causing a problem? Help is much appreciated here.
Thanks

Glenn

Glenn,
Do an ipconfig /all on one of the workstations that are receiving the wrong subnet and verify that they have the correct dhcp server listed. Also are the ones that are getting the class A subnets plugged into the same bank or banks of ports on the switch? Same question for the class B subnet workstations.

Electricity is actually made up of extremely tiny particles called electrons, that you cannot see with the naked eye unless you have been drinking.
