I have a user running windows 95 who shares documents with another running 98, the document is fine on the 98 box but when the 95 user opens the doc parts of the Documents characters are corrupted, the corruption turns the characters into boxes or wingdings,it appears to be linked to the print driver as i have reproduced the problem on another 95 machine, and fixed by changing the printer driver driver. the printer both users are using is an HP LJ5n, I'm assuming theres a particular file that is causing the problem any help would be great

Are both boxes running the same version of Office? If so, was the document created on the 95 or 98 box?

It seems odd that a printer driver would cause this type of problem. The document should still display correctly, though a printing problem is a different issue.

You might look into either a document from a later version of Word being read in an earlier version, the font being used not being available on the reading machine, or the file being saved in a non-Word format initially.

Thanks for your responses, I managed to fix the problem it was a problem with the print driver under 95 by changing to a later driver it fixed the problem on the machine.
