I have a user who has severe problems seeing the cursor in WORD and wants it set up to be wide.

Using the Accessibility options in Control Panel (Win XP)I can set a wide cursor, this works great in every application I've tested, EXCEPT WORD.

I've looked everwhere I can think of, but can't find a thing on this.

Can anyone offer any help?

try to changing schemas in xp and then change back...

or, download a bigger cursor...

Thanks balage0

I can't find a suitable cursor to download, I can find plenty of mouse pointers but can't see anything which changes the cursor/text caret in WORD.

That is because the cursor in Word is a property of the System Object. In other words, it uses constants that reflect what is set my the users registry system settings. While you can set the appearance of the cursor in Word (by VBA), for example changing it from an I-beam to the hourglass wait, the SIZE is non-configurable to specifically Word.

If the user has the system Mouse setting as Magnifier (which makes large cursors), then it should work in Word as well. What exactly is the Control Panel, Mouse pointer Scheme?

Gerry, thanks for that. It still doesn't quite do what my user is demanding. The cursor at the insertion point in the text stays the same.

I've spoken to a couple of charities, and they tell me that it can't be done, but they've pointed me to a piece of shareware which may help, I'll try that on Monday.
