I can burn a cd and it will play on my DVD Player(in Computer) and play in my truck but will not play an th CDRW Player that recorded it. Any ideas?

Do you have a sound cable connected from the burner to the sound card? "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

I would have to say you don't have the cd audio cable hooked up as well (how many times has this been the problem...). You say the dvd drive plays the audio cd's, and most sound cards have only one internal input (newer sound cards have changed that), and the dvd drive is hooked up to that input, and you cannot hook up both at once into a single input - I've personally tried, doesn't work.

oh yeah, if your sound card _does_ have an aux input, then try and get a cd audio cable from a local computer store or something.

when you say it will not play what happens does it look like it is playing it but you hear nothing? do other store bought cds work on this drive? or NO cd plays audio on it... js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

I CHECKED AND i DO HAVE A SECOND CABLE TO THE AOUND CARD(BOTH ARE HOOKED UP) AND IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IT DOES NOT LIKE DEALING WITH A CDA FORMAT

3 questions you need to answer for us:

1) When you try to play the music cd, does the window show that it's playing but you just don't hear sound? Is that it?

2) Do other regular music cd's work in the CDRW drive?

3) What software are you using to play the music cd? Try the standard Windows CD Player.

also does the cd drive have a headphones jack? if so do headphones work in it?? js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

I placed a store bought CD in the DVD dr and it auto brought up winamp and it played. Took it out of DVD installed in CDRW it shows tracks but viewing the properties indicates nothing in file 0mb. Did not play.

DVD plays everything.

CDRW when I tell it to PLAY one of the songs it says that it is a invalid dir.

I have Winamp, Music Match, Rio, Windows Media and have Sound Blaster Live card

When you put the cd in the CDRW drive, does winamp launch or is it a generic window that shows you .CDA files?

I'm assuming that you are trying to double-click a .CDA file. Instead, why don't you try to open each track from within Winamp using the load button.

If that doesn't work, try using your burner software (Nero or Easy CD). You should be able to preview a track from there. See if that works.

Also try RIO, Windows Media Player, Windows CD Player, etc...
