Connections in Monitor with an asterisk "*" are called "Authenticated." Authenticated status usually indicates the connection of an NLM program or other service connection that needs access to a service on this server and does not use a licensed connection.

Connections in Monitor without an asterisk are called "Normal." Normal status usually indicates users who have gone through the login process and have taken a connection license for their connection. However, the server connection status is also indicated as normal.

Not Logged In status usually indicates a user or service that is holding a connection number but is not logged in to the server. For these type of connections, less information about the connection is displayed such as Privileges or Other Info.
