The second part of my problem with GSM:)

The GSM unit has two lines installed. It has 4 SIM card slots though.

Now, when I call any of the two lines on the GSM, I can see in the system monitor that the call is coming in, but it does not ring at the operator station. You can see logs from my IPO at In this test, I have directed the call to my IP Phone, but it does not matter what phone I use as operator.
On my IP phone (4625SW), I can see the incoming caller id shown, but I am not able to pick the call. On an 6408D+, one of the lights on the programmable buttons show an incoming call but again when I try to pick, the phone just beeps.
However, if I configure the GSM to direct these calls to another number on another IPO (406v2 running 5.0(15)), any phone can ring and I can pick the call, but hear absolutely nothing! The receiving phone remains quiet.

If it matters, I am using the same codecs on IPO as the phone.

This is a tough one, but I think crackable by you guys.

How are you routing the calls from the GSM to the handsets?

Also as this is an IP solution you don't have direct media path enabled anywhere do you? As that may the issue :)

if it is an analogue gsm unit you will have Trunk Numbers, e.g. 701, 702 in the line settings. In the Incoming Call Route set Any Voice on incoming number 701, 702 to ring your group/operator

TheTaker, this is a follow on from a previous post it's a H323 GSM gateway :)

ah ok! I see! What incoming trunk group is the H323 line in, just send all voice to the operator group, use SSA to see this, it's a bit clearer.

check voice first on the connected system before troubleshooting the 2nd linked ipo.

@amriddle01 - The GSM gateway has the operator number configured on the h.323 line, as well as in the GSM routing. That is how calls are routed to the handsets.
By simply changing the operator number, the call should go to the specified extn.
"Allow Direct Media Path" is not enabled on the line.

@TheTaker - your question is a bit unclear to me.

I don't think that is correct. The h323 line is seen as a trunk so you would need to route the incoming digits as you would a normal line. So if your opeator number is 500 for example you would have in ICR, Group X, Digits 500 destination 500. If this was treated as an extension you can simply dial any extension without the need for call routing.

also make sure the h323 gateway is set to G711a or u law.

I was saying to use System Status - Active Calls to view the incoming call, it is easier to see where it is ringing.

TT is having one of those days, H323 trunks do not follow incoming call routes they follow line shortcodes and system shortcodes :)
