Hello! I am running a dual OS PIII system with a Sound Blaster (basic) sound card. My operating systems are Win 2K Pro and Win 2K Advanced Server. The drivers are installed properly on both Operating Systems, but in 2K Server, my sound is extremely distorted. I am getting crackling, buzzing, and much distortion no matter what the sound source. Whether it be CDs, Wave files, Mp3s, etc, the sound quality is really awful. Funny thing is in 2K Pro, it all sounds just fine! The same CDs, same wave files, all sound great! I have tried unstalling the drivers for the card, and upon rebooting it automatically reinstalls and the same problem occurs. I have NOT installed any Sound Blaster software,.. both OS installs installed the drivers automatically. How do I fix this sound distortion in Win 2K Advanced Server, and why is the sound just fine in Win 2K Pro? It sounds as though somewhere the sound is turned really high, even though the sound panel says the volume is normal. Please help. Thank you.
