I posted a few weeks ago about two people who have HP scanners that they cannot get to reinstall.
Since then I can add a third friend to the list.
He finally removed Widows using deltree command from the prompt and reinstalled it from scratch.
The scanner will still not install.
I just got a new Dell 8200 computer; I went to the HP web site to get new drivers for my HP 4C scanner. It runs from a scusi card so I’ve never had trouble getting it to run.
They said they did not and had no plans to supply Windows XP drivers to support my scanner.
I did the only thing I could; I went and bought a new Epson scanner, and an Epson C80 printer to replace my DeskJet as well. So did my friend who reinstalled Windows and I think the other 2 are going to buy Epson scanners as well.
Everyone knows that this is a problem that has been around for years and HP offers virtually no help at all. What’s wrong with just having it install through the add hardware window.
None of the scanners that couldn’t be reinstalled were more the 2 years old, don’t they realize that they are forcing their customers away.
When I went back to find my old post there were a number of posts from other people who are having this problem right now. There must be hundreds of people having the same problem.
Well I just wanted to get that off my chest.
Thanks a lot
