For some reasons, my Photoshop doesn't use my window fonts. I want to use other fonts but it doesn't list in my photoshop when I use the Text command. All other programs have no problem when reading the window fonts.

Are there way or setting to tell Photoshop to look for fonts and add it onto its directory?

thanks.

it only reads from windows/fonts directory -- last i knew but there might be something out there where you can specify other folders

In addition to windows\fonts, photoshop looks in \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Fonts...

If your adobe apps are having problems recognizing installed fonts, do a find from the windows start menu. search for adobefnt*.lst. delete all the files you find. restart the app (illy, photoshop, whatever). The program will rebuild the font list and hopefully your fonts will show up.

One more thing is that PS sorts fonts by an internal font name (embedded in the font itself), not necessarily the actual name of the font. Search the entire list of installed fonts to make sure the font is REALLY not in the list.
