ld 2 has commands to adjust the clock faster of slower... that is the cpu function so either adjust it or change the cpu, and nothing tells you that the next one is going to be any better
System time and the time on the phone are not the same unless you do the lamp audit during the MIDS and it resynk's the phone to the system. the clocks on the phones are free running unless resynking takes place.
As stated in the NTP's 553-3001-511 page 43 of 490, LD 30
when run during the MID routins, Digital Telephones that pass the signaling test will have there Date and Time updated to match the system Time. So if you don't run LD 30 in your MID's, the phone clocks won't get updated. I have seen where 20 phone on a switch were all different times, after running LD 30 in the MID's all clock's were within a min of each oher.
When you reset your time and date in ld 2, it does propagate through the system and change time on the phones. This is without having to run midn. So lod 30 and ld 44 are not invoked prior to the time changing on the phone displays. I have to do so every day since this company uses switchview and switch view does its own midnight routine and changes the clock on the switch to mirror it's own clock. unfortunately the clock on the switchview server is off by a few minutes and I have no access to that server.
Yea but how wants to do it manually every day? I check my system time with 303-499-7111about every 3 or 4 days and if it's off than i change it, but in the mean time all my phones have the same time on them because I run LD 30 in the MID's.
ld 30 will not sync the clocks..IF the time does not match, go to ld 77 and turn on the lamp audit.. rls 3 and above, default is off..prior to that default was on.. they changed it due to a conflict with some station cls marks.. if you can get switch access to at least ld 2, i can post a script that sync's the switch to the network time on the pc every time you login.. if you need that remind me on monday. or start a post with script in the header.. if your vendor hoards access and will not fix the clock, find a new vendor.. your paying for service..
So John your saying the NTP's are wrong, I took this out of the NTP's
"As stated in the NTP's 553-3001-511 page 43 of 490, LD 30

time sync only runs if lamp audit is on... if anyone remembers when rls 3 came out, a lot of people here had sets that drifted away from the switch time... it took me three days with nortel to find out that default for lamp audit had been changed to default off.. i've included ld 30 in my drol for decades.. if your sets don't match each other or the switch ld 30 alone will not fix the problem
