Why does my parameter box come up 3 times?

I just don't get it. I have a cross tab query with one parameter field for location. When I run the query from the query grid the parameter asks for the location once. This is good. However when I run it from the report the parameter asks for the location 3 times. Why is this and How do I stop it?

Hope there is a solution out there because I'm burnt out ;-)

I can't tell you why it happens, but I might suggest that you deal with it by creating an unbound form with an unbound text box and a button. In the query criteria replace your current parameter with a reference to the unbound text box. Behind the push button's On Click event instruct it to open the query. That way, when you open that form, type the location (or select it from a combo box if you have restricted the locations that can be entered into the table), and click the button it will open your query and use the form's value as the criteria. This can also be helpful if you tend to forget which location you specified- you can always go back to the form to see which location you specified.

Thanks Larry for your response,

Just for future reference I found a really easy way of solving the problem.

On the query display the query properties box and in the "Column Headins" section you just have to right the name of the columns you need. This replaces the <> with the right column heading.

Thanks again

Cashe :)
