Hello friends,

Perhaps one of you computer guru's know what is up with my IE?

When I surf the net, say just come to Tek Tips,or log-in on to my homepage, before the page I'm going to shows, a small diologue box appears, with no sound, in the middle of my screen saying:

"No connection to the internet is currently available
To view internet content that has been saved on
your computer, click Work Offline.

Click Try Again to attempt to connect."
with two buttons..."Work Offline Try Again"

When I click try again, it goes right away, This is a returning problem, it went away for a long time, but it is back now!
This is what i have win '98
Ie 5.01

Thanks in advace.

as a incomming rep for a dsl internet server. i ran into this. very possible that the dsl signal is not the best and the modem keeps dropping the signal.
check and see if all the lights are green when this happens
ive found that the cord from the wall is very important keep it as short as possible. if you need to go a longer distance from the outlet use the round solid cable and put a add on outlet closer to the computer. the flat extension wire is real fine braids almost like a metalic thread that tends to break down and make more resistance in the wire where the round wire is solid and gives better signal throughput.
