Why would anyone need a "Belkin Easy Transfer Cable costing $40.00" to transfer files from an XP machine to a Vista Machine? Can't you use a Local Area network conection?

Bob...

Yes you can. The belkin cable just makes it easy for people without a LAN. The software is built into Vista and is point & click easy.

If you don't have a LAN you can also use the cable to Synchronize files between two computers if your purchase the Laplink PCsync software (has a thirty day trial).

Can you use IP over 1394 network connection to transfer and sync files between XP and Vista?

Bob...

Good stuff linney, I think I'll try the 1394 Connector for file transfers and use SyncToy V1.4.

Bob...

Suppose you could pronounce Belkin as Blinking
