s8300 LSP 10.204.10.30 y n 1:00 1/19/2012 server dropped off the network today, there is no alarms or errors or anything in list history on the system but when you log onto the web interface for the LSP it says

Initialized 4 (RELOAD) no Active 01/19 12:47

The Help file says
Initialized. The restart occurred when the system was initialized.

Is there anywhere i can see why this happened??

Ther has been no network or wan or gateway issues the server just seemed to restart

list history in the main server that controls the LSP. Any save translation all, save translation lsp, or even a backup with a save will cause all LSP and ESS servers to reboot CM.
This is by design.

this is the first thing i checked list history but there was nothing even close to the time it rebooted, infact whoever has been making the changes has not been saving them they are being saved at the maintenance time.

The gateway did not reboot its been up 474 days

any other thoughts..

What's your software and patch level? There is a known issue with 8300's (a timer issue) and it can reset - actually it hangs and the gateway resets it. There's a patch for that.

You can "show logging file contents" on the gateway to verify that.

Did you LSP server reboot?
Did CM application reboot?

try "uptime" and "restartcause" from linux

show logging file did not work this is a G700

Yes it was the LSP that rebooted
Initialized 4 (RELOAD) no Active 01/19 12:47 (this was taken from the web interface of the server)

That is not for the LSP, it's for CM

you need to do "uptime" in linux for the s8300 server
or
last -xf /var/run/utmp runlevel && uptime

Sorry AvayaTier3 i did run the "uptime" comandon the main server and it was 58 days, i will go on shortly and get the exact details.

The main CM is S8720 / 5.2
