Hello folks,

My set up is a Westell DSL modem which connects to a Netgear wireless router.

The IP address for the Westell modem is 192.168.1.254
The address for the Netgear Router is 192.168.0.1

As soon as I installed the Netgear, I could no longer browse to my Westell modem at 192.168.1.254

In order to get to my Westell Modem (some of you IT folks will cringe), I disconnect my PC from the Netgear and plug it directly into the Westell modem.

I do have Norton Firewall on my PC but it has been configured to trust the 192 zone.

Thanks, Bill

You have 2 DHCP running @ the same time. You have to use ONLY 1 DHCP.

Thanks, Ali.

The question is should I disable DHCP on the modem or on the Router? My guess is the DSL modem. Right?

Thanks, Bill

Your description of the Westell modem (connecting directly to it) is one of two choices. The other choice is to place the modem in "bridged" mode, and use the Westell configuration utilities for any changes.
