I am using Veritas Backup Exec 9.x.

I do not have on record the password for the System logon Account.

I changed the password for the User in Active Directory, and I went to edit the logon account to reflect the change.

When I try to edit it, I get a password verification screen.

When I type the new PW in the box, it says that the validation failed.

I tried to delete the Account from Backup Exec, but it said that I couldn't because I was logged in with that account (it was the only account).

I created a second logon referencing the same domain user account, and set that one to be my default...

It still will not let me delete\recreate System Logon Account, and now I can not change my default account back, because I can't edit it.

In addition to this, I can't delete the new account because it is my default.

So...Here is the question:
Do I have to provide the old account password to edit the account?
If not, how to I force Backup Exec to check AD for the new password, and not use the cached PW.

Please help, as I am the only tech here that can do these backups, and it needs to be done.

Try (from a cmd prompt)> "gpupdate /force" [Enter] Without quotes of course.
