Everytime I open my form "DLECContacts" in design view there is a big white box that just has the subform name in it. What's wrong? I've seen this happen before, but all I would do reopen in normal view and then again in design view and everything is fine. Today it just keeps doing it.

Second, I don't know if I upset Tek-Tips Forum, but the last five times in the past 6 months I posted something I never got a response back or anything. So if anybody out there can assist I appreciate it, or just send something that says get a life or something, at least I know somebody read the post.

b31luv: I don't know about your problems previously but we certainly can try to help you now. In the design mode of your main menu you say you have a subform control, correct? And, in the subform control is basicially nothing. Well, ACCESS is displaying your control. The subform behind the form is identified in the properties for the control as the Source Object. You can go there and see the dropdown list of forms.

But, easy enough to open the subform in design form is just double-click the white area of the subform control. Now the subform itself is opened in design view.

Is this what you were looking for? Bob Scriver

Open your lower level form in design view first, then your top level form. Used to have the same problem.

I appreciate the responses. Bob, I tried the double click and all I get is the properties window. I also tried jmdist idea and yes I can open the subform in design view that way, however after I change to form view and then back again I still have the same problem.

Let me ask you this, the problem jsut started a second ago. I open the main form and pass information from one form to this one, and search the form based on one of the pieces of information I pass. All works good, then I have the client make a selection from the contacts list which is the subform, everything still good. Then I have to pass that information to another form. No the problems begin, I proceeded to pass the information in a txtbox from the subform to the main form. I open in form view and the information wasn't passed from the other form, I went back into design view and the subform wouldn't show, I started clicking back and forth and the same problems, I closed without saving and still the same problem, any suggestions? I keep thinking I have to start all over again. What do you think?

Once again, thanks for responding.
