Help! For the past few months,I feel so depressed because i had burnt many CDRs.I had been compiling my old CDs.The burning software i using is ESCD 5 platinum.Hardware are DDU1211,CRX-160S,IBM 30G 7200,384M 133,thunderbird 1100 and A7V133 motherboard.
The software kept prompting me about
1.Write error-buffer underrun occurred
2.Track Writer error-Command retry failed
I had try unchecking the DMA box but to no avail.

How fast are you burning your cd's at? since the burning doesn't have burn proof technology i suggest burning everything at 4x or 2x.

Do not do anything on the computer while it's burning.
Also, disable your screensavers.

If your writer isn't of the BURN PROOF variety it is important that when writing you don't do anything on the PC and turn off your screen saver.
Because of your high write failure try writing to the hard drive first and then back to the writable disc, NOT on the fly! that is writing directly from the CDrom to the writer. This usually means just unticking a box, but I have to say I am not familliar with your writer software.
I find Nero 5 to be about the most flexible of the writing software packages. Also copy raw can be enabled to get around copy right protection, (obviously for your own personal back up) Martin
